Resetting Payload CMS Admin Password

Resetting the administrator credentials for Payload CMS is a common task, especially during initial setup or if you forget your password.

1. Access the Appsuite Dashboard

Navigate to the Appsuite details page for the relevant Appsuite (e.g., “My Website”).

2. Locate the Payload Application

Scroll down to the Applications card. Look for the application with the Type: Payload.

3. Open the Reset Password Dialog

Click the Key Icon button located next to the Deploy/Stop buttons for the Payload application.

4. Enter New Credentials

A dialog will appear with two fields:

• Email: The email address for the admin user.
• Password: The new password.

Password Requirements:

• At least 8 characters long.
• Must contain at least one number.
• Must contain both uppercase and lowercase letters.

5. Submit Changes

1. Click Save Changes.
2. Wait for a success message (“Account updated successfully”).
3. The dialog will close automatically.

6. Verify Access

1. Navigate to the Payload Admin URL (usually ending in /admin).
2. Log in with the new credentials.
